High-density #946MP1.5 with extended collar has a 37.5 µm tip; 0.25 µl sample channel enables 60 µm center to center spot spacing in a 48 pin 18 x 54 mm and 64 pin 18 x 72 mm glass substrate slide area

Pins produce precise printing of microarray spot via a gentle “ink stamping” mechanism. Tip never touches the printing surface, which extends pin durability. Left image: Sample loaded into the pin fills the exterior with a pre-determined loading volume. Center image: The thin layer of sample formed at the end of pin tip contacts the print surface and leaves a droplet between substrate and pin. Right image: Pin goes up and strong adhesive of substrate pulls droplet off end of the pin and leaves a perfectly printed microarray spot.   A 200x magnification image of the flat, horizontal Pin tip of a standard 946-pin design allows printing without tapping force; exterior sample channel completely bisects Pin.

Access port in the collar allows 360° Pin lifting with a 946 Pin Tool (sold separately).
